SHOOTOUT / LADDER PLAY INFORMATION
Courts will be assigned randomly within skill groups the first session and from then on according to the previous week’s results, overall ranking and player ability.
Players may be moved up or down a skill level based on ranking. Example: A player that wins 100% of their points for a couple of weeks in a row may be moved to the next skill level.
PLAYING THE GAME
Four players are assigned to each court. Each player then plays 1 game to 11 points with each of the three other players on the court. After the last game, the scores are totalled, (33 points possible), and the two players with the highest scores move to the next lower numbered court and the two players with the lowest scores move to the next higher numbered court. If 5 players are assigned a court, players play each of the other 4 players to a game of 7 points. If there are 5 players on a court the three players with the highest scores move to the next lower numbered court and the two players with the lowest score move to the next higher numbered court.
EXAMPLE: A, B, C, D are playing on court 3. After playing everyone one time, players A and B scored 33 points, C and D 20 points. A and B move to court 2, C and D move to court 4.
The premise of the shootout is to play aggressively and score as many points as you can. The more points you score, the higher your ranking, the faster you move up to the lower numbered courts and the more competitive the play becomes.
